Tucson Convention Center Plaza

Garrett Eckbo of Eckbo, Dean, Austin, and Williams (EDAW) practice landscape architecture and urban design out of San Francisco starting in 1939. Under the tutelage of Eckbo, the practice was responsible for some important modernist works of urban landscape architecture including the Tucson Community Center Plaza. For it modernist landscape, the convention center plaza was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. Ken Paulson PLA, and Eric Barrett PLA, (ARC Studios) worked with general contractor Sundt Construction to preserve and reconstruct the fountains using much of the original finishes possible with was mandated by the historic preservation committee.
